Sensei
Thank you very much for the detailed reply, it could not have been easy to type out. The English may not be perfect but the meaning is clear. Arigato gozaimashita.

Is the treatment of the tsukaito with kusune any different when the tsukamae is covered in brocade (nishiki), leather or material other than samegawa?

Toryu san

I use KUSUNE to TSUKAMAKI of leather.

Use the KUSUNE even WATARI-MAKI even TSUKAMAKI of ITOMAKI-TACHI.
NISHIKI will use it with URAUCHI in MINOU-WASHI (Hull FUNORI on the back).
Yarn end of NISHIKI I will prevent the unraveling.
NISHIKI you paste in HAKATA and MUNEKATA.
You paste by mixing a little bond to SOKUI.
TSUKAMAE you paste the KYOGI on it.
Does not stick KYOGI to WATARI-MAKI.

Of course, the TSUNEKUMI-ITO I use KUSUNE.

Thank you.

Dear all!
Yesterday I cooked Kusune the first time (only Matsuyani and rapeseed oil).
But I'm unsure about the ration resin / oil...
I put the hot Kusune on a chopstick and cooled it. It seemed to be solid but still sticky.
But overnight it flowed/melted because it was not hard enough (?).
How viscous should it become? Is it usually solid with only a sticky surface?
I think I have to cook it again with little more resin now....
Any hints would be very helpful!

And in this Youtube movie, the Kusune is black (colored with charcoal?) while the tsukaito is white. Does it not stain the ito?
